Meet Carly Osler, Women’s Designer for Tavik Swimwear. Recently featured on Diane’s Beachwear and currently in the running for their Best New Designer of 2014, here’s a little insight into the current collection and the creative mind of this sweet-natured, toe headed Tavik babe.
Inspiration: – TAVIK SWIMWEAR is a premium lifestyle brand cultivated from MODERN BEACH CULTURE. Staying true to the TAVIK roots my main inspiration is the TAVIK girl herself. She is a rebellious, sexy, edgy, music minded adventure seeker, who often clashes with the norm. I also draw inspiration from travel, fashion shows, street style and my personal range of late 90′s editorial archives I’ve been collecting over the years. Pops of color, a kaleidoscope of water hues and playful color blocking techniques are trends that inspired the line. This season much of our focus was on fun prints and textured fabrics.
Theme: CULTURE CLASH – Within this collection we celebrate the TAVIK girl on her escape into the desert. We follow her as she welcomes the palette of bright colors and custom bold prints swarming in the natural landscape. Youthful but sophisticated, our collection is a perfect accessory to seamlessly transition from day to night, beach to street.
Colors and Trims: We are known for our use of bright bold colors and custom hand painted prints, mixed with monochromatic blacks and whites. Our mix of mesh, custom hardware and luxurious Italian fabrics create the ultimate line of hybrid swimsuits. Our designs uphold a subtle sex appeal with a contemporary edge, paying close attention to fit and quality. We introduced reversible, mix and match styles, with a modern, minimalistic aesthetic.
Favorite Suit: My favorite suit from this collection would have to be the BIANCA TOP and JAYDEN BOTTOM. The BIANCA TOP is the definition of BEACH TO STREET / DAY TO NIGHT. It is a fixed triangle top with mesh paneling and adjustable straps. I love wearing it at the beach and at night, as a bra. The JAYDEN BOTTOM is the perfect minimal/ cheeky bottom, with just the right amount of skin showing through the side mesh panels.
