Greg Broussard, better known as Egyptian Lover, was the head of DJ group Uncle Jamm’s Army in the early 1980s. Broussard helped provide the beginnings for what is now the West Coast hip-hop scene. They have been widely regarded as pioneers in the world of dance music, both self-produced and distributed. Listen to “Computer Love (Sweet Dreams)” off of Broussard’s 1983 solo record On the Nile.
