Past and Present is Tavik’s way of paying homage to the musicians that may have been forgotten, but continue to inspire us today. In each installment we take music from earlier generations and compare it to the songs they influence today.
Spacemen 3 are one of the most prominent garage rock/psychedelic groups music has seen, and since their emergence in the early 80′s a handful of bands have followed in their footsteps. Local band Cosmonauts put a heavier edge on Spacemen 3′s relentless, fuzzed out chord progressions, and in the last few years have become internationally known.
